Trimdon Foundry Parish Council
Meetings held at
Trimdon Station Community Centre,
Any members of the public are welcome to come along

Meeting held June 21st 2006
The Committee visited the Recreation ground at 6-30pm pre meeting to inspect the recent vandal damage to the the cabin used by the bowls and cricket members.
The amount of damage caused is appalling - the committee had a good look around to decide what to do. Some of the bowlers were also present and they also were shocked at the state of it . Photos at end of page>>

“We are determined to go ahead, anti social behaviour will not stop us. The play area will have security, and we will find the mindless people who are bringing antisocial behaviour into this village. We have a better understanding with the police and will find out who these youths are. We will work with the housing departments to help us rid our village of these problems and make our village a better and safer place to live.”
George Martin, Chaiman of the Parish Council

Meeting commenced at 7pm at the community centre
We were a Councillor short as Mrs H Martin had retired owing to ill health, and it was at the discretion of the Parish Council to co-opt a new Councillor.
Mr Tony Jackson was approached, and said he was interested. All members were in full agreement and Tony joined us for his first meeting .

1/ After seeing the damage to the cabin, and after a long discussion, it was decided to have what is left of it it demolished and purchase a new steel one

2/ The Clerk was pleased to report that the offer of the grant for the Trimdon Station Youth Works in the sum of £27,564,00 from the Livability Fund had now been received. She asked for endorsement of action taken by her , in consultation with the Chairman, in accepting the grant.
The Clerk has also signed the Form of Tender and Contract for these works. It was hoped the work be completed mid July for the schools breaking up for the summer.

3/ Information had been received from members of the Public that a white van has been seen behind Nattress Terrace selling alcohol from the back of the van to under age drinkers, also the Top shop was mentioned.

4/ Police reported that the crime rate in our village had risen dramatically, in fact ours was now the highest, the reason being that criminals are coming into our village from other villages. We gave our reports of what we had received and they are going to look into the matter. They intend to drop off flyers to all households with email addresses and contact details, and also hold surgeries at community centres. They had held one previously but no one came, they think because people are afraid to report things or name people
.

Date and time of next meeting Wednesday 19th July 7.00 pm
